To Dive, or Not to Dive...

I was watching The Amazing Race last week (one of three shows I will watch on TV). There's lots of things I love about this show. I think it's interesting the countries they visit, the challenges they have to complete, and sometimes the sheer chance that can send a team from last to first.

Inevitably the teams will end up at a challenge that will ask them to eat some funky something that is a local favorite. Those scenes are usually nasty to watch. Definitely not as bad as Fear Factor was, but still gross.

On this particular episode I watched, the teams started in California and had a quick challenge before hopping on a plane to Australia. As I sat there and watched I had the same thought I have every season, "I wonder if my husband and I could do that show. My husband is very travel-savvy, which is a huge part of this show. We work well together and could figure out the puzzles and tasks...." As I'm thinking about this, the teams make it to their first Roadblock. They are scuba diving in a huge tank looking for a compass that will be the key to a puzzle they have to decode. In the tank with them are six foot long sharks and a a bunch of stingrays. One stingray is the size of a queen size bed!

Well that answers that then. We would have been stopped at our first Roadblock. My husband hates sharks and I don't even scuba dive. So neither one of us would have even gotten in the tank. If I ever wonder again, all I need to do is remember this Roadblock and I can stop wasting my time. :)

Where Are We Heading?

I saw a commercial the other day about a new car from Chevy. A guy goes on a date with a girl and when he drops her off she gives him a peck on the lips and goes in the house. He gets in his new Chevy something-or-other and starts driving. He starts to wonder about something and enables a voice activated feature that allows you to check Facebook. (Are you serious?!?!) He hears a voice read the latest post where the girl wrote, "Best first date ever!" He continues driving with a smile on his face.

Um...couple of questions: 1. Do we really need another way to distract us from driving? 2. What if she had written, "Just went out with a loser"?

Chapter 2

I thought my blog needed a fresh start, so here it is. New pictures, new posts, and a new color scheme.

So much in life has changed since the last post in November 2008. I didn't move back home, but I did move. I now live with my new husband, who I adore, and our two kittens. We nicknamed them crazy and nutjob and it fits them perfectly! They bounce around the house and off the walls almost constantly, but they are also very cuddly and love to be near us. Soon I will post some new pictures. I can't believe how much they have grown!

I have been enjoying life a lot more these days and have some new interesting challenges. Life sure is a crazy thing, huh? You think it's taking you one way and suddenly you have a G force pulling you a comletely different direction. I love it when it ends up way better than you ever hoped though. :)
